Short story writers.

Short stories are another genre that most of us rarely work in, so when it becomes necessary to write a short story in order to pass a class, it can be extremely daunting.

Professors and teachers will often say that you have read a lot of short stories, so it shouldn’t be too hard, but many of us have watched a lot of professional football, but you wouldn’t want us on your NFL team, or even your weekend team!

If you are ready to try your hand at short story writing, go for it! Be sure to read and think about your professor’s instructions until you understand them easily. You will also want to make sure that you give yourself enough time to review your work and make changes that occur to you.

One of Kurt Vonnegut’s tips for writing a good story is to start as close to the end as possible. This is a good way to compare short stories from novels, in that novels tend to start at the beginning. It is important to recognize that the as close as possible means as close as possible for the story to make sense, just like a novel doesn’t start at a universal beginning.
