Best Google Android Apps for Students

Google Android is the latest market competitor for seamless integration of all your technology and social networking so it’s seems opportune to have a look at the apps being offered through android which are of benefit, in particular to students.  These apps are fun and helpful tiny programs you can upload for a small fee or often even for free.

Google Goggles has got to top the list of most amazing, magical even, new apps. What you do is point your phone at an object, a book, a DVD, a work of art, whatever significantly visual thing you wish, and you take a picture. So far pretty dull, you’ve taken a picture, but then if the app is up and loaded, it will do an automatic search through the available information about the image. So say you are studying Art and you’re focusing on the worlds masterpieces. You might photograph a picture of Mona Lisa and the app will auto search everything about the painting, the painter, etc… That’s just off the top of my head, the mind boggles at the possible uses for this amazing app. Oh, and did I mention it’s free!

Another app in a similar vein is the portable scanner app which is self explanatory and for students is another terrific resource. Scan all the relevant library pages, charts, graphs and so forth you’ll need for later and save heaps of time and money.

Another two apps that are bound to grab you are really practical and useful little numbers. MyBackup Pro is simply as super useful app available to all android phones that will back up everything on your mobile to either a card or an online server – your choice.  The other is an Emergency First Aid Guide which we simply think is quite a useful and a clever thing to have handy.

These are just a small fraction of the android apps available. There are also of course games, quizzes and all the other things you love as well as dozens more useful student type apps. We are thinking all this connectivity is a good thing, whether you are using android, apple or blackberry or any other.
