I can’t figure out how to use a source!

Sometimes you do not know where to begin your paper; in those cases, choosing a good source and then using it as the basis for the subject and contents of your paper is another great option. If that is what you’re working on, then it can be good to use both a strong quote and a bit of analysis or a statistic. In order to expand upon the work in the source, think about both the elements in the work and what they describe in the world. It is important to be detailed and expansive in your descriptions, don’t assume that others see the references that you see or know what you know. Take the time to describe them, and show the reader not just the things you see as connected but the path that connects them.

What does "Tutoring" mean to you?

Tutoring means different things to different people. Some students just need a few examples thrown their way, with or without the presence of an actual person, so they know how to do their own work. The model paper is for these people in this last group. They don't need or want someone there, holding their hand, helping them through the process. They just need a template, something they can use to inform their own work.

Long time no see!

Why Outlines are your Best Friends

While it can be boring, and yes, definitely tedious at times, the reality is that making an effective outline is your best use of time because of how much time it will save you in the long run.

It's Not Just About Term Papers

Referring to what we do as "writing term papers" would be like referring to nurses as "the ones who bring the bedpans" when we all know they do so much more than that.
